In 2021, 3CDC completed the renovations of Court Street Plaza, an outdoor promenade surrounded by small, locally owned businesses and anchored by the new Kroger on the Rhine store, and Imagination Alley, a pocket park on Vine Street that now hosts community gatherings and family-friendly events.

Inclusive and diverse programming across Civic Spaces includes but is not limited to the following:

Fountain Square: Over 90 nights of free concerts each year including Salsa on the Square, Reggae Wednesday, Fifth & Vine Live, which features local, regional, and national talent, as well as several food markets offering cuisine from all cultures.

Washington Park: Over 250 free and family friendly events annually, including Friday Flow, which features national and regional R&B acts, concerts on Mondays (Jazz in the Park) and Thursdays (Roots Revival), both of which highlight local performers, and performing art shows such as Shakespeare in the Park. Throughout the year, 3CDC also partners with community organizations to offer free children’s activities, as well.

Memorial Hall: A half dozen free children’s shows are presented each year, with 3CDC partnering with community organizations to ensure participation from neighborhood youth.

Ziegler Park: The Everybody In Program, highlighted further below, has been designed to make access to Ziegler Pool affordable to all and to provide a variety of free programs, primarily geared toward the neighborhood youth.

Court Street Plaza: While regular programming is just getting started at Court Street Plaza, it's already served as home to Asian Food Fest and 3CDC has introduced the monthly BlaCk market dedicated to supporting Black-owned businesses. Court Street will also serve as the regular home of the new mobile roller rink.

At Ziegler Park, our Everybody In Program has been designed to make access to Ziegler Pool affordable to all and to provide a variety of free programs, primarily geared toward the neighborhood youth. Through the Everybody In Program, season pool passes are offered on a sliding scale based on income levels. In 2022, 56% of pool passes were sold to families making less than $49,000 and 46% went to families making less than $35,000, many of which were paid for through grant funds 3CDC raised.

In addition to pool memberships, 3CDC is focused on serving low-income neighborhood youth and their families by offering free programming, including swim lessons, safety clinics, swim team, and summer camp. In 2022 alone:

  • 473 kids and adults attended free swim lessons
  • 40 children participated on our free swim team
  • 52 neighborhood youth attended low-cost summer camp
