In November 2009, 3CDC purchased the Metropole Hotel on Walnut Street. This historic building, adjacent to the Dick and Lois Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art, will be restored to its original purpose as a hotel by the 21c Museum Hotel LLC. (www.21cmuseumhotel.com) Cincinnati will be the second 21c location. 21c Museum Hotel, Louisville was named the number one hotel in the U.S. and number six in the nation in 2009 by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. A year-long relocation process for current residents is now underway and will continue until November 2010. Following the successful relocation of tenants, conversion of the building will begin. 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati will include 160 rooms, a contemporary art museum with more than 8,000 SF of public exhibition space, Proof restaurant and meeting space.
