Oakley Kitchen Restaurant Relocates to Court Street Plaza

CINCINNATI (May 23, 2023) – Previously located in a 120-square-foot stall in Oakley Kitchen, Onolicious Hawaii will open the doors to its new 2,400-square-foot space at 1005 Walnut Street today at 11 AM. A street-level storefront on Court Street Plaza, the space is just steps from other local favorites like Pilar, Mid City Restaurant and Avril Bleh Meat Market and is master leased by Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC). Owner Vincente Benedett is excited to be joining the hustle and bustle of Downtown Cincinnati.

“Our previous space in Oakley Kitchen was so small,” said Benedett, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife, Elena. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to maintain our own space now – a space that is much larger. When guests walk in, they’re going to feel like they’re in Hawaii. It’s exciting for us to be able to give them that experience.”

Onolicious Hawaii’s menu will focus on locally-sourced ingredients and, of course, tropical island fare. Its new, larger space will also allow for an expanded menu complete with several new offerings that are sure to please the palate.

“Hawaiian cuisine is often called the soul food of the Pacific,” said Benedett. “That’s what you’ll get here. Patrons can expect a variety of classic Hawaiian dishes, as well as other island-style offerings like coconut French toast and matcha mochi chicken & waffles – a weekend brunch staple.”

The restaurant’s new space, which was designed by City Studios, will have a tropical vibe, featuring a boat rope patio to accommodate outdoor dining and other Hawaiian décor. Additionally, Onolicious will emphasize sustainability, or Mālama honua – a Hawaiian phrase that means, ‘to care for, protect and preserve the Earth.’

“We believe Downtown Cincinnati is already an amazing dining destination and we want to continue to work with operators that provide patrons with diverse, authentic options,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Commercial Leasing Manager with 3CDC. “Onolicious is going to add to the momentum building along Court Street Plaza and we’re thrilled they’ve created a Hawaiian atmosphere in their restaurant to match the authentic menu.”

The restaurant will spend its first week operating Tuesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM. Starting Tuesday, May 30, Onolicious plans to extend its hours until 9 PM, while still operating Tuesday through Sunday.
