Black- and woman-owned business to debut this Friday

CINCINNATI (August 20, 2020) – Over-the-Rhine’s newest establishment will open this Friday, August 21 when Nostalgia Wine & Jazz Lounge opens its doors to the public at 1432 Vine Street, with a grand opening event beginning at 5 p.m. The space is set up for social distancing with table service only and an outdoor patio space.

Owner Tammie Scott is bringing entertaining smooth jazz sounds to the OTR neighborhood as 3CDC’s newest tenant in the organization’s recently finished Behlen Building, with opening night welcoming local musician Lauren Eylise. Celebrating Nostalgia’s OTR and Findlay Market neighbors, the event is sponsored and styled by Idlewild, with food available from The Rhined.

Nostalgia is a nod to Scott’s grandmother’s love of similar jazz clubs, with a model that offers a laid-back atmosphere and a hand-picked selection of rotating wines.

“The concept is a synergy between stories my grandmother used to tell me about the West End’s Cotton Club in the ‘40s and ‘50s, and my experiences visiting jazz clubs and wine bars along the east coast during my time in D.C.,” Scott said.

A Black- and woman-owned business, Nostalgia’s menu will feature wines and spirits from minority- and female-owned winemakers, with eight wine varieties on tap. Guests can also purchase carryout wine during normal business hours, Wednesday-Sunday. Reservations can be made on Nostalgia’s website.

Scott is a Cincinnati native who spent seven years in Washington, D.C. before making her move back in 2017. During her time in D.C., she worked as a marketing consultant for bars and nightclubs. Once home, she decided to develop a business plan that would bring her vision of a unique jazz club to reality.

Following the grand opening, the intimate lounge will operate Wednesday-Sunday, with nightly live jazz performances Thursday-Sunday.
