CINCINNATI (November 12, 2019) – Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) and the Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC) are excited to launch the new, all-digital Queen City Card, which will replace the current Downtown Cincinnati Gift Card Program that has been in use since 2007.

The Queen City Card, available for purchase online at www.queencitycard.com, is a completely digital, easy-to-use gift card powered by Yiftee. The digital gift card can be redeemed at participating restaurants, retailers and other businesses in Downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine.

Some of Cincinnati’s most popular restaurants, retailers, bars and businesses will accept the Queen City Card, including various Findlay Market vendors.

The Queen City Card, which will launch on Nov. 14, functions similarly to any Mastercard or Visa gift card purchased at Kroger or Target. There are no inactivity fees incurred if customers don’t use the gift cards in a timely fashion, and Yiftee also sends monthly reminders of the card balance via email or text, unless a customer chooses to opt out of receiving such alerts. Current balances are also listed on the digital cards.

Only available for purchase online, the Queen City Card will be delivered by email or text message to the recipient. Purchasers wanting to deliver the Queen City Card in person to the recipient can simply choose the “print for hand delivery” option. Those opting to send the gift electronically can schedule a date for the card to be sent and can track when the gift is received and redeemed.

Previously purchased Downtown Cincinnati Gift Cards can still be redeemed at participating merchants but the physical cards will no longer be sold after Nov. 13.

“We wanted to provide an experience for consumers and businesses that made spending money in Downtown Cincinnati fun and simple,” said Cate Douglas, stakeholder services specialist for 3CDC/DCI. “The Queen City Card is easy to use for shoppers, easy to accept by merchants, and drives local spending into retailers and restaurants.”
