October 2022 Updates

ZIEGLER PARK

City Council recently approved funding to expand Ziegler Park into Woodward and part of Yukon Streets. An early construction phase – related almost entirely to moving underground utilities – will start in early November and will include closing the streets and fencing them off. At that time, pedestrian access to the buildings will remain, but regular vehicular access to Woodward and Yukon, including parking spaces, will not be available. This early phase will involve underground infrastructure that will need to be completed regardless of the final design of the park space.

The design has not yet been finalized, and there are two upcoming community engagement opportunities. The first will be held on November 15th from 6-7:30p at 1312 Main St. The second will be held on November 17th from 6-7:30p online. Please email events@3cdc.org to request the meeting link.

We will share updates throughout this project. If you would like to receive those emails, please send your contact information to ZieglerExpansion@3cdc.org.

AVRIL LOFTS

Work at Avril Lofts is nearing completion. While facing delays on the delivery of windows, the crews inside have been working hard on finishing touches throughout the units. To date, countertops, backsplashes, electrical and plumbing fixtures have been installed. Paint touch-up is underway and common areas are nearly complete. Once the windows have been installed, the units will be released for sale. Visit the Condos Section of the 3CDC website in the coming weeks to view the units as they are listed.

THE FOUNDRY

After just over a year since announcing plans to relocate their flagship downtown Cincinnati restaurant to Fountain Square, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse celebrated the completion and grand opening of its new location in The Foundry on Oct. 8. The 11,000-square-foot space is 50% larger than Jeff Ruby’s previous downtown home, with seating for 350 people and views of Fountain Square.

Meanwhile, at the future home of Divisions Maintenance Group (DMG), in-wall electric and plumbing work is nearing completion. Drywall finishing work is also ongoing. Earlier this month, DMG showed off the designs of its new headquarters, where they plan to move in the first half of 2023.
