October 2020 Updates

4TH & RACE

Work is complete on the Race Street building façade and nearing completion on Elm Street at the 4th & Race project. Inside the garage, parking spaces are being striped and final inspections have begun. The first five levels of the garage are expected to open to the public by November 24, 2020.

COURT STREET PLAZA

Court Street Plaza construction is now underway. Crews are beginning demolition of the existing center median to start underground utility work. The first work to be completed will be storm system modifications. Meanwhile, Duke Energy is relocating the northern gas main and will continue on to replace the southern gas main directly after.

PERSEVERANCE

At Perseverance, drywall and plaster work continue at the sites located at 1513-1515 and 1517 Vine Street, with work on the storefront at 1513-1515 Vine progressing as well. Floor repair, lighting and plumbing are taking place along with interior paining at 1511 Vine Street, and third-floor framing happening at 1505 Vine Street.

WILLKOMMEN

Crews continue to make good progress on the multi-site mixed-income Willkommen development. Foundation work is ongoing at the new-build sites located at 1521 Vine and 1602 Pleasant. Additionally, all 16 historic buildings are currently undergoing renovations, with a focus on masonry and structural repairs, interior framing and updated roofing. Inspections are complete in several buildings while others are currently undergoing mechanical, electrical and plumbing work.
