Formerly known as the Race Street Condos, the Allison (a portion of the broader 15th & Race project), continues to move closer to completion, as crews do various work throughout the building. In mid to late November, asphalt will be poured for a new rear parking lot, which will be reserved for condo owners in the new building.

At the future home of Empower MediaMarketing, crews finished installing Geopiers – the deep foundation system used to stabilize the existing soil – in early October, allowing work to begin on the shallow building foundations. In addition, shoring around the four exterior walls of the historic Hukon Building is underway, which will allow for the demolition of the interior of the structure to start in early November. Steel fabrication has also started, and installation will begin in late November.

Crews continued to make excellent progress on the Memorial Hall renovation throughout October. New hardwood floors have been installed in both ballrooms, and the theater’s chairs have been reinstalled. The renovation of Music Hall continued at a steady pace last month, with much of the work focused on Springer Auditorium. Crews are still hard at work throughout the entire historic structure. Subscribe to regular project updates to learn more, and refer to the archive for old issues.

At Ziegler Park, the new underground parking garage is starting to take shape as concrete pours were ongoing throughout October.
