November 2016 Project Update

ZIEGLER PARK

At Ziegler Park, both the new underground parking garage and pool area are now well underway. The upper- and roof-level decks of the garage, as well as construction of the pool itself, are on track for completion in December. MUSIC HALL

The renovation of Music Hall has continued steadily over the past month. Much of the work has remained focused on the Springer Auditorium but crews are still hard at work throughout the entire building. Subscribe to regular project updates to learn more, and refer to the archive for past updates.

MEMORIAL HALL

Finishing touches have been made to Memorial Hall as it nears completion, including refinishing the stage, applying decorative paint, installing the new chairs and adding new landscaping outside the hall. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2, as the doors to Memorial Hall are officially re-opened to the public. EMPOWER MEDIAMARKETING

Empower MediaMarketing’s new location continues to make steady progress. As of this month, all foundation work has been completed, as well as the elevator shaft. Construction crews have successfully removed the roof and all interior floors of the historic Hukon Building, and an elaborate scaffolding system is now underway. It will allow the demolition of the interior to begin. There is a crane on-site and steel erection has begun at the southwest corner of the project site. This will allow the building to officially “come out of the ground.” Steel erection will be the focus of construction from now until early January.

THE ALLISON

Formerly known as Race Street Condos, the Allison, a portion of the broader 15th & Race Project, continues to move even closer to completion. Asphalt has been poured for the new rear parking lot, which will be reserved for condo owners in the new building. Upcoming work includes pouring the sidewalk along Race Street and making final touches to both the interior and exterior of the building.

4TH & RACE

Demolition of the former Pogue’s Garage has continued at a steady pace. Demo work will continue until February, as the structure is taken down level-by-level. The skywalk across Race Street was taken down and crews have demolished the area around it. For more information, subscribe to regular project updates or refer to the archive for previous newsletters.
