June 2017 Project Update

EMPOWER MEDIAMARKETING

Work at the site of Empower MediaMarketing’s future home continues to move along. Presently, crews are in the process of drywalling the first and second floors. HVAC, sprinkler, and electrical work are underway on the third and fourth floors.

THE GLASSMEYER

Crews continue making great strides on the Glassmeyer. At the Elm Street building, interior trim work is nearly complete and kitchen cabinets are being installed. Hardwood floor installation will also begin in the coming weeks. At the 15th Street building, drywall is being hung and painted, and tile and trim work will follow. The building’s exterior is taking on a whole new appearance, as crews have begun painting the brick.

MUSIC HALL

Crews continue to work at a steady pace, making great progress throughout the Hall. This past month, the stage floor in Springer Auditorium was demolished, and plywood for the pit at the front of the stage was installed. In addition, various light fixtures were hung and the chandelier was re-installed. Meanwhile, paint and plaster work is ongoing in the Main Lobby, as construction of the spotlight room and stenciling of the ceiling have resumed in Corbett Tower. On the building’s exterior, brick staining is now complete on the Elm Street façade. Concrete pours for the sidewalks are underway. THE STAFFORD

At the Stafford, exterior paint is nearly complete, giving the building an entirely new look. Appliances are being installed and final touches are being made to the residential units, which will hit the market in mid-July.

ZIEGLER PARK

The Ziegler Park pool passed all inspections and officially opened to the public earlier this month, while work continues throughout the rest of the park. Concrete sidewalks and tree walls were poured to the south side of Woodward Street for the pedestrian connection to the monumental stair. Additionally, work is ongoing atop the garage, with soil placement and underdrainage taking place at the playfield level while storm drain installation and backfill continue on the north side. Elevators have been installed in both portals. Across the street in the West Park, the concrete mound for the playground has been poured and turf is being installed atop the playmound. In addition, the fencing around the basketball courts has been installed, as well as all futsal goals, backboards, and hoops. Court striping is also now complete. Crews will work on the bocce ball court in the coming weeks, and will install playground equipment, among other items. 15TH & VINE

The south stair tower is now complete, and the metal stairs have been installed. Steel erection, which provides the structural shell of the building, is currently in the second of four phases. Structural masonry repairs are underway in the historic buildings, ensuring that the connections between the rehabilitated buildings and the new structure can be completed without complication. In the upcoming months, crews will install metal decking with subsequent concrete pours. Leasing information for the office and retail space is available on the 3CDC website.
