July 2023 Updates

DUKE ENERGY CONVENTION CENTER

The Duke Energy Convention Center is currently in schematic design for both the building renovations and the two-acre park and outdoor convention space at the former Millennium Hotel site. An exploratory study of the building’s electrical, plumbing, and roof is also underway. This will help determine the exact scope of repairs needed. Plans are advancing through an iterative process of design, value engineering, and cost refinement to arrive at a final design that is within the project budget. Currently, there is a request for proposal (RFP) to select a subcontractor for the building façade. Identifying a subcontractor now will allow that organization to be involved in the design process and ensure a high-quality and cost-effective final product.

FINDLAY COMMUNITY CENTER

The design of the new community center continues to advance, and a schematic design set will be complete in the next few weeks. Concept designs for Grant Park and the portion of Findlay Playground next to the community center are currently being developed. Future engagement sessions will be held seeking community input on these designs. If you would like receive project updates, please email FindlayRec@3CDC.org.
