The Abington Race & Pleasant project, which is spread across several sites, is progressing nicely. The 1523-1527 and 1529-1531 Race Street properties are currently undergoing drywall, hardwood flooring, and kitchen cabinetry installation on the upper residential floors. In addition, all exterior windows have been replaced, and the east-facing front facades are being scraped in preparation for fresh paint. The first-floor commercial spaces are also being drywalled, and hardwood flooring installation is underway. At the 1533-1535 Race Street property, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are almost completely installed. The storefronts have been demolished and new curbs have been poured. Lastly, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are complete at 33 Green Street, and drywall installation will begin soon. New windows have been installed on all three upper floors. On the first floor, the old storefront has been removed, new curbs have been poured, and the new wooden storefront is being installed.
Empower MediaMarketing’s future space is currently receiving interior paint and floor polish. Outside the building, crews are doing facade prep and streetscape work. Construction is on schedule for completion next month.
At the Glassmeyer, crews are sanding and painting drywall in the 15th Street building. Bathroom tile and interior trim work will follow. In the Elm Street building, hardwood flooring and kitchen cabinets are currently being installed. Outside the building, a new sidewalk has been poured and brick tuckpointing is nearing completion. Despite the heat and humidity, crew have continued to make exceptional progress both inside and outside the Hall. Both the CAA and CSO offices are nearing completion. A variety of work is ongoing in the Main Lobby, where the floors have been completely demolished to make way for the new bars located in the North and South Circulation Areas. Final paint is complete on the Main Lobby ceiling, and vestibule drywall work is underway. Various work on the stage inside Springer Auditorium continues, in addition to carpet and light fixture installation. Lastly, plaster work has begun on the walls in Corbett Tower. In the west park area, work is nearing completion. All playground equipment has been installed, and concrete work is complete. The turf on the lawn is in place, and is beginning to root. In the east park area, the north and south walls are being backfilled. The west planter wall is complete and crews are preparing to pour sidewalks in front of the wall.
