February 2015 Project Update

The renovation of the historic Globe Building at Findlay Market will be completed in March. Crews are currently installing interior glass walls, custom millwork and specialty light fixtures as well as completing the new outdoor roof deck and elevator.

The foundations for the Mercer III Townhomes are nearly finished. At 14 Mercer Street, interior demo has been completed and a new roof has been installed.

Installation of the roof membrane is nearly completed at the Drop Inn Center Women’s Facility, after which crews will start hanging drywall. Elsewhere on the building’s exterior, installation of stone sills, face brick, window frames and glass is all ongoing. At the same time, interior framing and rough-ins have continued inside on both the first and second floors.

Construction is in full swing at the Drop Inn Center Men’s Facility. Crews have started block work for the new shelter partitions in both the winter shelter and main shelter areas, and the new 4,000-square-foot interior courtyard has been excavated. Additionally, new underground plumbing is being installed, along with new concrete flooring in the basement and on the first floor.

The epoxy coating of the floor is ongoing at Building 1 of City Gospel Mission’s future campus, while paint and drywall touchups are being finalized on the second floor. Also, the building’s kitchen equipment is set to be delivered later this month. At Building 2, the installation of bar joists for the roof is ongoing, and decking is scheduled to be completed this month. Meanwhile, rough-ins continue on all floors.

Crews have been busy at the three buildings that will comprise The Osborne. Current work includes underground basement plumbing and the pouring of new concrete slabs, as well as interior demolition and new roof work. In addition, a new dormer was recently installed at 1509 Pleasant Street. Crews will soon begin new framing and new stair installation in the three structures, which are estimated to be completed in September 2015.

15 W 14TH

The renovation of 15 W. 14th Street is almost finished. Bar equipment and lighting has been installed in the first-floor bar, LowSpark, and the large, operable window facing 14th Street has been installed, as well. The front door and wall treatments will be installed in the coming weeks. The Yoga Bar, which occupies the second and third floors, is open and operating, hosting classes three times a day, seven days a week.

Plenty of work is ongoing at 1408 Elm Street, which will officially be called The Olson. In the past month, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins have been completed, while both drywall and window installation are nearing completion. Additionally, masonry repair has continued throughout the interior and exterior of the building, which is scheduled to be completed in March.

Work is progressing nicely at the future start-up hub. Current construction includes new concrete footings and foundations in the new construction portion of 1311 Vine Street. In addition, electrical rough-ins have started, and new stair excavation work continues.

Agar officially opened its new office on the first floor of the former Pabst Bedding Warehouse earlier this month, joining previous occupants 3CDC and Lachey’s Bar. Construction on the two remaining tenant spaces on the first and second floors is ongoing. The building is expected to be completed and fully occupied by the end of May 2015.
