August 2017 Project Update

ABINGTON RACE & PLEASANT

Things are moving along nicely on the Abington Race & Pleasant project. The Race Street properties have begun to see site work, including the demolition of an old retaining wall at the rear of the property. A new retaining wall has been constructed in its place. Wood flooring is being installed in a number of the retail and office spaces, as storefronts are being installed at all commercial spaces, with glass currently going in. Site work at 33 Green Street is ongoing, and includes a new exterior back patio and ADA accessibility ramp. The existing storefront has been demolished, and a new wooden storefront has been built and installed in its place.

EMPOWER MEDIAMARKETING

The future home of Empower MediaMarketing is currently receiving both interior and exterior finishes. Final paint is being applied on the first floor, and carpet is being laid. Final paint is also being applied on the second floor, and carpet has been completely installed. Crews are hanging the interior doors, and Empower’s employee furniture has arrived on-site. Outside the building, sidewalks are being poured and cladding is being installed. Construction is on schedule for completion this fall.

THE GLASSMEYER

Work is progressing nicely at the Glassmeyer, where crews have begun installing cabinets and hardwood floors. Installation of bathroom tile and interior trim work is now complete. In the Elm Street building, countertops have been installed, and appliances and plumbing fixtures are being set. Contractors are applying a final coat of paint inside the units, while crews are hard at work painting the exterior brick, as well.

MUSIC HALL

Both inside and outside the Hall, crews have made exceptional progress over the past month. In the Side Circulation Areas, the old entry doors have been stained, and glass railings have been installed for the escalator and stairs. In Springer Auditorium, the finished stage floor has been completely installed, in addition to sound clouds overhead. Carpet installation and plaster repair work continue in the Main Lobby, but are nearing completion. Lastly, crews finished laying pavers outside the main entrance to the building, where the storefront has also been installed. ZIEGLER PARK

Earlier this month, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially reopen the renovated Ziegler Park. While the west side of the park has been completely finished, the east side of the park above the garage has been fenced off to allow the new sod on the great lawn to take root. Crews have also been making finishing touches to the east park area, including pouring sidewalks and stairs, landscaping, and additional planting. The fencing will be removed in early September, at which time the east park will also be open to the public.

15TH & VINE

Crews are nearly halfway finished pouring concrete on the steel decks throughout the building, making it a great time for potential tenants to schedule a tour. In the coming weeks, rough MEP equipment installation will begin, as will exterior framing work. Construction remains on schedule for completion in late January. Leasing information for the office and retail space is available on the 3CDC website.
