OVER-THE-RHINE, CINCINNATI (November 8, 2023) – 3 Pigs Hospitality, helmed by longtime OTR residents and industry veterans Garth Lieb and Tom Stephen, is thrilled to announce the launch of Atwood, a fresh culinary venture that promises to breathe new life into one of Over-the-Rhine’s historic restaurant locations. Located at 1220 Vine Street, the 2,000-square-foot space is being leased from Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC).

Meet the Culinary Team:

Executive Chef Seth Ridgill: With a decade of experience in renowned Charleston restaurants, Chef Ridgill brings his seafood-driven expertise to Atwood. He recently sharpened his skills at Kiki in College Hill under the guidance of Chef Hideki Harada. At Atwood, Chef Ridgill presents a menu that is both playful and elegant, characterized by a Southern accent and rooted in French technique. The focus is on oysters and seasonal seafood.

Pastry Chef Kayla Hunley: Known for her exceptional pastry artistry from her time at OTR’s Pleasantry, Chef Kayla collaborates with Chef Ridgill to introduce creative concepts to the savory side of the menu, in addition to offering a full dessert menu.

Discover the Beverage Selection:

Atwood boasts a full bar, serving a diverse range of classic and creative house cocktails. The wine list comprises 16 wines by the glass and an extensive bottle list featuring 80 wines, primarily from the old world. The program is carefully designed to harmonize with Chef Ridgill’s inventive seafood and vegetarian dishes, guided by a dedicated team of industry professionals.

An Elegant Dining Space:

General Manager Brandon Moore envisions Atwood as an upscale, fine-dining experience infused with the vibrant atmosphere of a bustling bistro and wine bar. The interior design draws inspiration from the art deco era, characterized by intimate lighting and a palette of golds and mirrored accents. The space accommodates both small to medium-sized groups for special occasions and impromptu happy hour gatherings, as well as providing intimate tables for a romantic dining experience.

Art Enthusiasts Welcome:

Atwood features an art collection thoughtfully curated by long-time collaborator and friend, Alex Frank, a renowned artist in the OTR community. The restaurant showcases fine art from Frank’s extensive personal collection, spanning from the late 19th century to the 1930s, with paintings and sculptures rotated seasonally. Frank has also contributed some of his signature pieces, showcasing his diverse artistic talents.

Experience the Patio:

As the weather turns to spring, Atwood will unveil a full-service patio that offers a more casual vibe to complement the interior’s upscale ambiance. Moore and Frank plan to create a lush art garden with a full-service bar and a French pétanque court, providing the perfect setting for afternoons of rosé and relaxation.

Tasting Menu Preview:

Atwood Oyster House will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Regular hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 4 PM to 10 PM, with the bar staying open a bit later.

However, before the official opening, Atwood will offer a preview in the form of a tasting menu for those who want to get a sense of the restaurant’s cuisine. Reservations are required for this special experience, allowing the culinary team to best prepare for guests. Reservations can be made on OpenTable by searching “Atwood Oyster House.”

The tasting menu will showcase a selection of dishes crafted by Atwood’s talented chefs. It will be a small, sneak preview of what Atwood has to offer, and an opportunity for the team to present their efforts in a controlled and structured way. The tasting menu will be presented as five courses, including several canapés, savory dishes, and dessert. No substitutions or dietary requests can be accommodated during the preview.

For Walk-In Guests:

If you prefer a more relaxed dining experience, you can simply walk in. The restaurant will have open seating at the bar and select cocktail tables to enjoy an à la carte version of the tasting menu. These smaller composed dishes are not necessarily meant to be enjoyed as a full meal but provide an opportunity to explore a variety of Atwood’s offerings. As stated above, the tasting menu will only be offered to those guests with previously booked reservations.

However you find yourself here, the team at Atwood is excited to welcome you to Atwood Oyster House and share their vision.
