Retro-Inspired Thrift Store Now Open in Over-the-Rhine

Vine Street Vintage Brings Iconic 80’s, 90’s and Y2K Fashion to Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (November 24, 2025) – Vine Street Vintage, a thrift store that focuses on 80’s, 90’s and Y2K fashion and merch, recently celebrated its grand opening at 1511 Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine (OTR). Setting up shop in a 1,400-square-foot space they are leasing from Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), co-owners Jackson Baltes and James Leach were eager to expand their resale business to Cincinnati.

The duo got their start in Louisville, Kentucky, nearly two years ago with their original thrift store – 502 Thrifts. Success at the first location, combined with a passion for thrift shopping and vintage fashion led Baltes and Leach to begin exploring options for expanding their business.

“I got into the resale business after my friends introduced me to the vintage style,” Leach said. “Seeing the cool, timeless outfits they wore inspired me to go out and find my own pieces to wear. After doing that for a period of time – and building up quite a collection – I shifted my focus to reselling.”

Baltes and Leach were drawn to the Vine Street location for its size — significantly larger than their Louisville store — and its strategic position. With thrift shops already established on Main Street and at Findlay Market, they saw Vine Street as the perfect connector, creating a convenient route for shoppers to visit multiple stores in a single trip.

“Vine Street Vintage is a fantastic addition to the existing mix of businesses on Vine Street, bringing even more variety for shoppers,” said Christy Samad, EVP of Civic and Commercial Space Activation. “OTR has truly evolved into a shopping destination, offering something for everyone — from thrift finds to high-end boutiques — at a range of price points.”

Vine Street Vintage features a range of 80’s, 90’s, and Y2K apparel including brands like Affliction, South Pole, Ed Hardy NASCAR, Harley Davidson and more. The store is open Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday from noon to 8 PM, and Saturday from 11 AM to 8 PM.
