Since opening in November, Elm Street Plaza and the ice rink has welcomed thousands of visitors taking advantage of the rink’s seasonal programming, cozy igloos, and WGU Warming Tent. As the Cincinnati Convention Center nears the completion of its once-in-a-generation, $264 million transformation, crews focused on the final stages of construction, preparing the facility for its ribbon cutting on January 7. On the exterior, the Fifth Street sidewalk reopened, and installation of aluminum composite material panels along Sixth Street nearly wrapped up. Inside, teams completed ceiling installation in the renovated Queen City Ballroom (former junior ballroom), installed final digital signage throughout the building, and began programming the systems. Crews also finished painting, laid the last sections of carpet, and installed remaining artwork, while addressing punch list items and other finishing touches to ready the center for conventions, events, and visitors in the new year. At the Convention Center Garage, crews continued repair and restoration work, making steady progress on the new elevator tower and interior improvements. The upper floors reopened for parking, while crews shifted focus to interior work on Levels 4 and 5, including painting, lighting and camera installation, and structural repairs. Crews also continued work on concrete slabs and walls for the new interior ramps. Momentum continued to build in The Fountain District as the Paycor Headquarters project reached its final stage. Flight Club celebrated its highly anticipated debut this month with a grand opening, offering high-tech darts, craft cocktails, and dining in a space that blends the charm of Victorian fairgrounds with the warmth of a traditional British pub. Meanwhile, employees began moving into Paycor’s second-floor office space, with a grand opening event planned for February.
