July 2025 Updates

CINCINNATI CONVENTION CENTER

With just under six months left in the construction period and with future events and conventions booking up, crews continued making steady progress on the convention center’s interior and exterior transformation throughout July. The exterior façade saw major changes as crews continued installing aluminum composite material (ACM) panels and completing painting work around the building. On the interior new terrazzo flooring was installed in select areas, including the new food and beverage alcoves and inside the main entrance at Fifth and Elm streets. New millwork—custom-made building materials—is currently being manufactured and delivered to the project site.

At Elm Street Plaza, concrete for pedestrian walking paths was poured throughout the space along with foundations for artwork and benches. Project partners also delivered planting soil to the project site in preparation for placing new trees and vegetation in the coming months. CONVENTION HEADQUARTERS HOTEL

In mid-July, national developer Portman Holdings, in partnership with the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, the State of Ohio, 3CDC, The Port, and Visit Cincy, announced a collaboration with Marriott International on Cincinnati’s new convention headquarters hotel. The 700-key property will join the Marriott Hotels industry-leading brand portfolio and serve as the anchor for the city’s reimagined Convention District—marking a major milestone in the effort to transform the area into a premier destination for large-scale meetings, events, and tourism. Full hotel construction will begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will be completed in the second quarter of 2028. PAYCOR HEADQUARTERS

At Paycor Headquarters, crews finished installing terracotta tiles, which were custom-made in Germany, around the building’s exterior, an intricate project task that initially started in March. As exterior work is winding down, lift equipment was removed from the site, and all Race Street vehicular lanes are open. Crews also continued to make great progress on interior buildouts for individual tenants in July. Inside the future Salazar restaurant, the ceiling was completely installed, and crews are now focused on finishes, including tile and flooring. FINDLAY COMMUNITY CENTER

Foundation work is underway at the Findlay Community Center. Crews are drilling auger cast piles around the perimeter of the site, a process that will take about five weeks. Auger cast piles are deep foundation elements that are drilled into the ground and filled with concrete to support the building’s structure. Meanwhile, interior renovations and selective demolition are ongoing at 1829 Vine Street, the building just north of the project site is nearly finished. Once complete, this building will be fully incorporated into the community center’s layout. CROSSROAD HEALTH CENTER

Construction is progressing steadily at the Crossroad Health Center. The northernmost portion of the building at 1715 Republic Street has been fully demolished, and selective interior demolition is complete. Crews are now working on masonry for new interior openings across both floors, and wall framing is underway on the second floor. Outside, underground utility work has begun as part of early site development.
