February 2026 Updates

CINCINNATI CONVENTION CENTER

The Cincinnati Convention Center was officially renamed the First Financial Center. In February, leaders from the City of Cincinnati, First Financial Bank, Hamilton County, Visit Cincy, Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), and other key partners gathered to celebrate this milestone announcement. The new name marks an exciting next chapter for the City’s premier meetings and events venue, which opened in January following its official ribbon cutting. Shortly after the announcement, crews began installing updated exterior and interior signage reflecting the venue’s new name, with additional signage scheduled to be installed in the coming weeks.

Construction at the nearby Convention Center Garage progressed steadily throughout the month. All major concrete work was completed, and significant advancements were made on the new elevator tower. Crews continued installing stairs, stair rails, and elevators in the tower, while utility and sidewalk work began along Fifth Street. As weather and temperatures allowed, teams also advanced interior renovation work, including conduit installation, painting, lighting upgrades, and structural remediation. THE FINDLAY COMMUNITY HUB

This month at the Findlay Community Center, crews completed the roller rink slab-on-grade (a concrete foundation poured directly onto the ground), marking the completion of all slab-on-grade work, with the gym and locker room slabs already in place.

Masonry work (concrete block walls) concluded in the locker rooms and progressed in the roller rink. Installation of interior CMU (concrete masonry unit) walls also got underway in the locker room areas.

Additionally, structural steel advanced throughout the facility. At the pool, roof decking was finished, and installation of the TPO roofing membrane (a durable, waterproof roof system) commenced. Hangers and supports for building systems have also started in the pool and locker areas. In the gym, truss installation began, roof decking was completed, and installation of the elevated running track has started. Steel installation also began at the roller rink. CROSSROAD HEALTH CENTER

Crews kept momentum strong this month at the Crossroad Health Center site and inside 1715 Republic Street. On the site, crews installed the second stormwater detention system, which helps manage rainwater and reduce runoff. All sidewalk concrete has been poured, and pavers were installed in select areas. Site grading (leveling and preparing the ground) continues in other portions of the site as final elevations are established.

On the first floor of 1715 Republic Street, drywall and bathroom tile installation were completed. Prime painting, acoustic ceiling tile (ACT) grid, and carpet tile installation continued. On the second floor, crews continued installing accent walls, the ACT grid, carpet tiles, millwork/casework, and HVAC diffusers.
