CINCINNATI CONVENTION CENTER
The late August dip in temperatures has provided a welcome break from the summer heat at the Convention District project sites, helping crews to maintain steady progress across all areas. On the building’s exterior, crews continued to install aluminum composite material panels along the facades and move the roof replacement and solar panel installation forward. On the building’s interior, crews continued focusing on drywall finishing, painting, and tile work in select areas.
In mid-August, 3CDC and its partners announced that Elm Street Plaza will become the new home of Cincinnati’s downtown ice rink. The beloved winter tradition is moving from Fountain Square to Elm Street Plaza, expanding seasonal festivities and vibrancy across the Convention and Fountain Districts. The new rink at Elm Street Plaza will offer more space for skating, along with cozy igloos, firepits, and an upgraded WGU Warming Tent. Blending modern amenities with cherished community traditions, the new location is set to become a hub for winter fun. The rink will also be available for private rentals, including parties and corporate events, with festive programming running through February. The announcement also included the launch of Elm Street Plaza’s new website and social media channels.
