Marigold Blooms in Cincinnati’s Fountain District: A Grand Opening Celebration
Posted on February 18, 2025 by aatkinson
CINCINNATI – February 18, 2025 – The wait is over. Marigold, the newest gem in Crown Restaurant Group’s celebrated portfolio, is officially opening its doors in Cincinnati’s Fountain District this Friday, February 21. With an irresistible blend of British elegance, bold Indian flavors, and an atmosphere dripping in sultry sophistication, Marigold is poised to become the city’s next must-visit destination for those who crave a dining experience as captivating as it is delicious.
Located within The Foundry, the vibrant mixed-use development by Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), Marigold is part of a larger effort to revitalize the heart of downtown Cincinnati. 3CDC has played a pivotal role in transforming the urban landscape, creating a dynamic environment where top-tier restaurants, businesses, and cultural experiences thrive.
“Since we first partnered with Crown Restaurant Group seven years ago, they have continued to raise the bar with each concept they’ve created, and Marigold is no exception,” Joe Rudemiller, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for 3CDC, said. “We were looking for elevated restaurant and entertainment concepts when we set out to fill the Foundry’s street-level commercial space and Marigold certainly fits that profile. It’s unlike anything else in the Cincinnati market right now, making it ideally suited for the Fountain District.”
The opening is being kicked off this week with a friends & family sneak peek, inviting guests to step into Marigold’s world—a space where deep, moody hues, rich textures, and intricate design details transport diners to an era of refined craftsmanship and modern edge. But the true star of the evening? The menu.
“At Marigold, we’re bringing something new to the Cincinnati dining scene—dishes that are soulful, layered, and inspired by the places that have shaped me as a chef,” says Chef Megan Yung. Originally from the Tri-State area, Yung trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London and then worked for Chef Stephanie Izard in Chicago at Girl and the Goat, then Cabra. “My time in London, working alongside some of the industry’s most innovative chefs, instilled a deep appreciation for bold flavors and refined technique. Now, I get to bring those influences to our city, weaving them into something truly special.
Marigold is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience. With a menu rooted in seasonality and global influence, the culinary vision seamlessly blends classic British pub fare with vibrant Indian accents. From meticulously crafted curries to beautifully charred meats and vegetable-forward plates, each dish is a reflection of Marigold’s bold yet refined personality.
Chef and Owner Anthony Sitek shares, “This restaurant has been a long time coming. With each concept we’ve launched, we’ve pushed ourselves to evolve, and Marigold is the next step in that journey. It’s a place where flavors, textures, and experiences collide in the best way possible.”
Adding to the excitement, Marigold’s exclusive collaboration with Cincinnati Distilling will debut at the grand opening, featuring a bespoke house gin, showcased in the signature Pimm’s Royal Cup cocktail. This handcrafted spirit will be just one of many thoughtfully curated beverage offerings, from warming hot toddies to an extensive selection of wines, each designed to complement the menu’s bold flavors.
Chef Haley Sitek, co-owner of Crown Restaurant Group, sums it up best: “Marigold has always been imagined as a place of quiet magnetism—a space that draws you in without shouting for attention. Chef Megan’s food is the embodiment of that vision. Her ability to create dishes with soul and sophistication makes Marigold the perfect expression of what we set out to build.”
Located in The Foundry, downtown Cincinnati’s bustling mixed-use development in the heart of the Fountain District, Marigold finds itself in great company, alongside top-tier restaurants and some of the city’s most innovative businesses. The restaurant’s striking aesthetic—reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement, infused with opulence and warmth—sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
