Former California Resident to Bring Tablescape Rental House to Cincinnati

Female Entrepreneur Signs Lease for 3CDC Storefront

CINCINNATI (January 21, 2025) – Formerly a resident of California Yoleine Dumarsais recently signed a lease to bring her tablescape rental house, The Tabletop Project, to 124 E 13^th street in Over-the-Rhine (OTR). A 1,752-square-foot storefront Dumarsais is leasing from Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC), she plans to open her doors later this spring.

With more than 12 years of industry experience working as an event producer, Dumarsais has dreamt of opening a boutique tabletop rental concept for more than a decade. Following a move to Cincinnati two years ago, she recognized a void in the market for rentable table settings in the Queen City and jumped at the opportunity.

“When I lived in Los Angeles, luxury tabletop rental houses were popping up all around town,” Dumarsais shared. “However, I was new to the event industry and I really wanted to understand it before I opened my own store. It just wasn’t the right time for me.”

After relocating to Cincinnati, Dumarsais made the observation that there were several great large rental houses in the city, but not many small boutique rental houses. Ready to start a business of her own, she began looking for a space in Hyde Park but ultimately fell in love with the downtown area.

“It’s walkable, close to home, creative – and it feels like somewhere I can set trends,” Dumarsais said. “It’s important to me to offer something not already being offered somewhere else nearby.”

The Tabletop Project will feature elevated table goods, like flatware, glassware and plateware, available to rent for dinners, weddings, and other special events. Clients will set up an appointment to visit the showroom and view the different options to create their desired tablescape. Clients will also be able to create a ‘wish list’ on the store’s website. Dumarsais will offer a design service to clients who are not collaborating with a planner, as well as delivery and setup services, and can accommodate up to 250 guests.

“Downtown Cincinnati and the surrounding area are home to so many great venues for weddings, corporate functions and other formal events,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Director of Commercial Leasing for 3CDC. “A concept like The Tabletop Project will bring a needed service to the city, adding an element of convenience to anyone planning this type of event.”

The Tabletop Project will be located just steps from a diverse collection of bars, restaurants, retailers and other businesses including Wildweed, Longfellow, Brown Bear Bakery, Launch Party, Gallery at Gumbo, Selfie Cincy and more. Grand Opening information will be shared as it becomes available.
