CINCINNATI (January 21, 2025) – Marigold, downtown Cincinnati’s anticipated new dining destination, is set to open its doors within the next month. Nestled within Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC)’s vibrant Foundry development, Marigold promises to bring a fresh, innovative culinary experience to the heart of the city, adding yet another unique, elevated offering to the Fountain District.

From the restaurant group that brought you Crown Republic Gastropub, Losanti, Crown Cantina, Rosie’s Italian, Five on Vine, and Young Buck Deli, the group’s latest concept, located on the ground floor of the Foundry along Fifth Street, is a sophisticated English-style public house that blends British elegance with vibrant Indian flavors. With its bold, soulful ambiance, Marigold will offer an elevated, yet approachable dining experience designed to enchant food enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

“From our humble start with Crown Republic Gastropub on 8th and Sycamore, we’ve been slowly branching out and putting our own take on new culinary flavors,” says Chef and Owner Anthony Sitek. “With our next restaurant, we’re excited to showcase our best culinary talent in one of the city’s most exciting developments in the center of it all.”

The restaurant’s thoughtfully curated menu will spotlight seasonal ingredients, locally sourced produce, and globally inspired flavors, all crafted with CRG’s commitment to excellence.

Adding a distinct touch to its beverage program, Marigold is proud to announce an exclusive collaboration with Cincinnati Distilling. This partnership has produced a bespoke gin that will debut with the restaurant. Guests can savor this unique spirit in one of many signature cocktails crafted to complement the menu’s diverse offerings.

“We’re excited to partner with Cincinnati Distilling to create something truly special for our guests,” shared Alex Stevens, CRG’s Food & Beverage Director. “We’ll feature this partnership gin in one of Marigold’s signature cocktails, Pimm’s Royal Cup.” As always, there will be a full and eclectic cocktail menu selection featuring a Hot Toddy Service and extensive wine pairings, to name a few—all designed to quietly compliment the bold, unique flavors of Marigold’s dishes.

Located within 3CDC’s Foundry mixed-use development, Marigold is at the center of Cincinnati’s revitalized downtown core, in the Fountain District. The Fountain District’s mix of culture, commerce, and community perfectly aligns with Marigold’s mission to provide not just a meal but a memorable experience for locals and visitors alike.

The restaurant’s stunning design will evoke the rich, handcrafted elegance of the 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement:

  • Emphasizing authenticity, intricacy, and natural beauty, the space will leverage deep, moody hues like emerald green, crimson red, amber gold, and muted earth tones layered with rich textures to create a warm and inviting yet bold ambiance.
  • Intricate floral and botanical motifs reminiscent of William Morris designs, paired with textures like pressed marigolds, aged leather, polished wood, and silk will reflect both opulence and comfort.
  • Soft, diffused lighting with warm tones will create a sultry and intimate mood. Artwork inspired by natural forms and traditional craftsmanship will blend British and Indian influences.

Also located at The Foundry, Crown Restaurant Group will be in good culinary company alongside some of the most prominent names in the Cincinnati industry including Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Chef Jose Salazar’s Mita’s, and Thunderdome Restaurant Group’s The Davidson. The Foundry’s Class A office space is occupied by Divisions Maintenance Group (DMG), Deloitte LLP, and Turner Construction Co.

“Crown Restaurant Group has proven time and again that they are one of the premier food and beverage operators in Downtown Cincinnati, which makes Marigold a perfect addition to the Fountain District,” Joe Rudemiller, VP of Marketing and Communications for 3CDC said. “The Siteks’ thoughtfulness and attention to detail creates an ambiance in each of its concepts that heightens the dining experience, and Marigold will add to that tradition of carefully curated spaces.”
