Duveneck Flats, located at 1214-1220 Vine Street, is a mixed-use development that includes 15 loft-style condominiums in two historic, renovated buildings and more than 7,500 square feet of street level commercial space. One-half of the commercial space is home to a furniture store. A new restaurant is coming in fall 2009. Total development costs were just over $5 million with nearly $3.8 from the Cincinnati New Market Fund I and $680,000 from the Cincinnati Equity Fund. These unique lofts were named for Frank Duveneck, the internationally-revered artist and former chairman of the Art Academy of Cincinnati. They offer an exquisite blend of exposed brick and finished walls, two-sided fireplaces, contemporary steel railings, granite countertops, dramatic roof-top decks, Juliet balconies, carefully restored walls of windows, and original trim. Many of these lofts can be converted to two bedroom units.
