CINCINNATI (August 4, 2016) Procter & Gamble is bringing its Gain® dance event back to Salsa on the Square and giving back to the community! Presented by Gain® Detergent, Fiesta Salsera is a six-week amateur dance competition that will have the entire city ready to Salsa the night away.  As the competition closes out the summer, Gain® has partnered with the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati to kick off the “Back to School A-GAIN” campaign to collect school supplies for local students.

The first round of the competition begins this Thursday, August 4th, during Fountain Square’s weekly Salsa on the Square event. Each week judges will select two couples as the top dancers of the evening. Beginning at 9:15pm, salsa-lovers will head to the center of the plaza for their shot at the evening’s top prize – a $50 Macy’s gift card for each dancer – and the chance to advance to the Championship round of the competition. Registration for the dance competition begins at 7pm and ends at 9pm. Expert instructors will also be on-site at 7pm to give participants time to practice their moves before the official dance-off begins. Win or lose, all registered competition dancers will receive a commemorative Gain Dancer t-shirt as a thank-you for participating.

On Thursday, September 8th, all 10 winning dance couples will perform in front of the judges for the final Championship round. The First place winning couple will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and, of course, serious bragging rights. Gain® will be on site handing out samples and offering a chance to win prize packs.

“We know how much Cincinnatians enjoy Salsa on the Square. So, we wanted to enhance the event by hosting this thrilling dance competition,” said Shivani Kanneganti, Gain Brand Manager.  “In addition to partnering with the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati to collect school supplies we will also be handing out Gain samples. We know it is important to not only start the school year off with the proper school supplies but also with clean and fresh clothes.”

For a third year in a row the YMCA has participated in Salsa on the Square and has a pulse on the needs of the community. All school supply donations for the “Back to School A-GAIN” campaign can be dropped off at any of YMCA of Greater Cincinnati’s 14 locations as well as dropped off at Fountain Square during the Sept 8th final competition. All individuals who donate to the campaign will be registered to win an awesome Gain prize pack.
